You can use "nsd -kill" as well

In your notes binary (install) directory you should find nsd.exe (on windows).

You can use the command : "nsd -kill" to stop notes and all it's child processes, like taskmgr.exe.

You may also have to manually kill (using task manager) a process called notes2w.exe and/or eclipse.exe.

I think the last manual steps I mention are just bugs that will be fixed before the final release.
